Tom Waits

Also done for the 20/20 group show as a book-end to the Iggy piece. I was very happy with the outcome of this one, as I labored over the sketch quite a bit. And to top it off, this piece sold within the first 10 minutes of the show. I still have a few glicee prints left for anyone interested.

WEZ!

I will be attending Wasteland Weekend http://wastelandweekend.com/ again this year in Sept., but this time as a vendor and will be selling Mad Max themed art prints and possibly t-shirts. This a is a work-in-progress pencil drawing of "Wez!", Max's little mohawked nemesis of the wasteland. Check back for more updates.

Charles Bronson

Did this one recently for a caricature contest. Came in 2nd out of about 50+ entrants. This is more an amalgam of the Charles Bronson movies I grew up with as a kid, like The Mechanic and the Deathwish flims. He's got such a great weathered face to draw, a face like a clenched-fist! One of the original tough guys for sure :)

Gary Sinise

Not sure where this photo was taken, but he had this crazed look in his eyes that I liked. Looks a bit psychotic in my final painting. Was really happy with the skin tones and his eyes.

Paul Giamatti

Here's Paul Giamatti from one of my favorite movies, Sideways. This is one of those cases where I liked both the sketch and the colored version. I opted to leave the glass out of the colored version because I didn't think it needed it, and also I think it conveys a deeper more contemplative feeling without it. I did for a moment entertain the idea of a mouse floating in the glass :)

Tommy Lee Jones

Had a lot of fun with this one. He's just got this great face to draw. I chose the scene from No Country for Old Men where he is just beginning to understand what he's up against.

Some recent caricatures

This last month I've been able to draw and paint some new caricatures. Have been quite please with some of them. Here we have Emily Blunt, Bridget Bardot, and Nick Cave. I've had time to experiment a little bit with these too.
